Thank you!!
I can’t recommend this podcast enough! The past few years has been an intense time of questioning the faith and ideas I inherited. Listening to the conversations here has helped me know I’m not alone in that journey and that the new perspectives I’m embracing are not crazy, but instead bringing me to a deeper and wider understanding of God’s love and the scope of the Gospel. Thanks for being faithful and for letting us eavesdrop on your conversations!
Great, real points
Totally agree with James’s sentiments you shared about Seth in episode 312! ❤️
So enriching, I can’t get enough!
Mike and Tim have been a beacon of light for me since I was recommended this podcast by a commenter on the Holy Post FB page. The Sermon on the Mount series is fantastic and has opened my eyes and enriched my life in so many ways. I look forward to each and every podcast now, and I absolutely love when Seth is featured, he brings a great big smile to my face!
Authenticity
The authenticity of this podcast is difficult to find elsewhere. The hosts do not claim to be geniuses or experts, rather they approach conversations about the Bible honestly, as believers trying to understand. Furthermore, they often invite guests onto the show whom they may disagree with, to discuss and understand viewpoints and stances they do not hold themselves. Those conversations are incredibly edifying, and even strengthening for my own faith. There are few others I would trust to walk me through examining my beliefs with a critical eye, with the intention of living true, authentic, intelligent faith. Thanks guys!!
Mike is a stud
Best podcast available.
Challenging my Traditional Christian Views
Seismic Mike and the entire team have challenged me to question why I believe what I believe. I love Jesus. But does Jesus love my judgmental attitude? NOPE. Started listening back in April 2021 and now started from the beginning. The Spiritual Abuse series in 2016 was extremely powerful for me. Give them a listen. You won’t regret. Thank you Voxology!
Encouraging
I found this podcast after listening to an episode of The Holy Post. Like that podcast, this one has given me hope that there are still people in America trying to stay true to what God has called us to do through Christ and having intelligent conversations about it. We are all learning to be more like Christ, and this podcast gives good material for that purpose. Thank you! I absolutely love hearing Seth, too!
Spiritual abuse
Wow. Thank you for that episode on spiritual abuse. It was very helpful and described a decade long experience, not at a church, but working for Dave Ramsey (Ramsey Solutions). Thankful, I’ve received counseling and found a group of people who experienced similar and can say “Yes. That happened to me too.” Keep up the good work on these difficult but needed topics.
Amazing
This podcast hits the nail on the head and every time. As a Christian, I’ve wrestled with all of these questions, and Mike and Andy offer compassionate and Biblically sound answers. Love it!
Wow loving this
Thank you, thank you for your humility and pursuit of Jesus in front of us and talking about real issues that we’re all living. Can’t wait to hear more.
Thank you, Mike and Tim. You’re providing direction for many in our own “troubled times”.
These two men are doling out some of the best teaching on the scriptures that has no denominational or political bent. They do not follow the teachings of Luther, Calvin, Wesley, etc… They follow the teachings of Jesus himself. Thank you guys. This teaching has been so incredibly important to me in the past year.
Just refreshing
Awesomeness! I love the fresh perspectives on things that you all provide. It is refreshing to hear people with a love for the Bible that are not rigid. Keep it coming!
A gift of grace to my soul
Love this podcast. It is really nice to hear others asking many of the same questions that I am processing.
Thank you!
This podcast has taught me so much.
Can’t wait for Monday’s
My favorite podcast. Been integral in working through my faith during current events.
I’m here for it
This podcast has given me language and thought reframing concerning the Christian faith that I’ve wrestled with/thought about but recently started exploring, and I’m here for it. The idea of thinking in old creation vs new creation is something I’m taking to help shape how I view things.
Nourishment for my apprenticeship of Jesus the Christ.
Very thankful for Mike’s, Tim’s, and many of the guest voices brought onto the show. Their theology is solid, and even in the minor, non bullseye issues of theology that I may disagree with them on, they have great arguments, and I can respect how they land where they do. Their voices are refreshing in a time where Christians are seemingly so split over issues of spirituality, theology, justice, and culture, where they walk the line of “Well, how would Jesus handle that?” And take the question really seriously, and use historical context and a good biblical hermeneutic to make a judgement on these issues. PS. Tim, please put the “misfit” song out somewhere, it is too good to be kept hidden! Who has a light and puts it under a basket? (;
Thoughtful Wrestling
I have listened to Mike Erre’s podcast since he began it and I’ve loved to see how he has grown in his love, wisdom and joy in studying and walking with Jesus. I have had a lot of theological unpacking to do in regards to my fundamentalist evangelical upbringing and this podcast has been the perfect companion.
Amazing!
I love the passion and humility of Mike and Tim as they unpack and wrestle with the Bible and how it impacts and challenges the church.
SO GOOD
my absolute #1 favorite podcast. i always learn something, am always challenged and encouraged, and come away thinking about the things discussed. so grateful for these guys and the work they’re doing!!!
So helpful
These guys are tackling heavy duty Jesus stuff. It’s so helpful. Appreciate them so much. Keep up the good work guys.
Color Pallet!!
I need the color pallet now! Blue tones? Yellow tones? We deserve to know!
Why to carry it forward!
Listened to the podcast today for the first time and I appreciate the conversation and humor. You are doing what Christians should have been doing all along; wrestling with the scriptures and carrying the conversation forward with humility and an eager willingness to learn and grown in Christ. You have a new fan my Brothers. Keep the convo going.
Alternative Voices for Evangelicals
There is more nuance in theology and politics and this podcast discusses it all. It dives deep into that twisted relationship between politics and religion with Mike Erre and Tim Stafford letting me know I’m not crazy or alone with my frustration. This podcast has interviews with authors and theologians that have challenged me helped grown my understanding of Jesus’s actually teachings.
Such a necessary voice in our church
Thanks for your commitment to calling those in our tribe up to Christ. I’ve been working through so much of this stuff for years and you guys helped put some really important language to it (things like the “Kingdom politic”). You guys are having really critical conversations.
Thank you!
Been listening to the podcast and have absolutely loved the conversations, insight, and approach to the Bible. They almost always have their bases covered with great arguments, information, historical context, quality exegesis, for whatever they’re presenting on or questions their answering. When they are in process and sharing ideas they are fully open about it and converse what they feel in their heart. I wish everyone would be able to hear the prophetic voice of this podcast and find a new hope and outlook in their faith. The team is constantly battling with and addressing the questions and issues that haunt today’s church and world.
I’ve come to cringe when this show is shared to me
It’s not that I dislike the content or disagree with the positions this show presents. What causes me now to roll my eyes when this show is shared is the thread this podcasts presents consistently blaming, shaming, and calling out the church in such wide spread statements. There are some Pastors, some local churches that don’t speak down on the protests for racial equality, who don’t support the Republican Party as a rule, who don’t march on the capital. We do go to the word for instructions in righteousness, we do go to the incredible teachings of Jesus for hope and correction and reproof, we do remind our sphere of influence that we are to love our neighbors as ourself, bless those who persecute us, and share the kingdom as much as opportunity allows. There are some evangelicals who are not podcast material.
One of the very best!
I have been listening to this podcast for 3-4 months now, and I look forward to it every week. The depth of knowledge and the unwavering pursuit of truth and a better understanding of who Jesus really was and is, is a challenge and an encouragement to my soul. This world is confusing and sometimes hard to live in, but listening to this podcast makes navigating it a little easier every week.
So good!
I found this podcast after they had Skye Jethani on during the Sermon on the Mount series. This series has been so amazing and I’ve gone back to listen to a bunch of earlier episodes, too. I don’t always agree with Mike, but so often I find myself saying “yes!!!” to what he says. I’ve gotten some much needed insights and have really appreciated this podcast.
Amazing podcast!
This is one of my favorite podcasts that I listen to every week. Mike and Tim have such great insight on theology, and I learn so much in my walk with God. They are also very funny and just easy to listen to. I’m also great GIK for the honesty and openness.
