VOX really does demonstrate how relevant a subversive kingdom actually is.
Mike & Andy are quirky and honest, and take a truly examined look at the important things in our time and life. They make us question the deepest desires of our heart, and force us to stop just long enough to think hard about what we believe and why we believe it. It's more than religion, its about what grace and truth lived out on a day to day basis might really be like. Conservatives and Liberals alike will not like they truth that they are seeking to bring to into the conversation from the life and impact that history tells us that Jesus might have actually had on his surroundings and the people he met. You won't be sorry that you listened. Authentic thoughtfulness awaits us all in the arena of VOX.
Thought provoking and passionate
I can't wait to listen to more..Mike turns the Christianity I grew up with completely upside down, challenging me to think deeply about who Jesus is and what that means.
Provocative challenges to live one's life
Are you ready to be challenged on what you really believe? Can you handle looking at all the ugly and messy of your life? If the answers to these questions are yes, then this is the podcast for you! I absolutely love Mike Erre and the truth he speaks on. This podcast is changing my purpose one episode at a time.
Front with love
Challenges the western worldview that Jesus would have been either right-wing or left-wing, argues instead that Jesus would know better than to side with either. So far the dominant theme has been what Jesus said was the second greatest commandment, love your neighbor as yourself. Exciting to hear an opinion different than hate or overlooking sin. Mike Erre does a good job finding where love belongs and how to practically apply the same unconditional love that God shows.
A needed revolution
This will challenge traditional, conservative evangelical practices and thinking...and it's about time!
Theologically sound, Charitable discourse
I just discovered this podcast and want to recommend it to anyone looking for sound, deep, yet charitable theological conversations on what are some of the most divisive topics in Christianity. As a pastor I especially appreciate the balance Mike Erre and his co-host achieve between proclaiming the full Christian gospel and showing hospitality to listeners who might not agree with the Christian message. Great job!
Pure Jesus !
Spot on provoking view of living out the real Jesus in scripture. Thank you
I'm gay and I feel safe in this conversation
So far this is very interesting. I don't know if I will agree with all of this but I feel like this is a great conversation. I feel like this is being said with love for a change.
Clarity on difficult issues
Mike is both awesome and a little frustrating. He brings clarity to hard topics on biblical principles, which in some ways, can go strongly against what we, as American Christians, have come to believe in (in this current time and culture.) Mike is really good at communicating how American, "established-church" mindsets are not always a good reflection of Jesus’ true heart. I have to admit that listening to Mike causes me to reevaluate some of the cultural beliefs I have stood solid on. It's a little rattling. But, in a good way. I miss Mike as my pastor but am so thankful for this podcast.
A much needed voice
Thank you for continuing to remind us that the Church must stress the urgency of patience and grace. Keep proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the hope for the world.
Great podcast - relevant, radical grace!
Mike has a gift for dealing with difficult topics with grace and truth. He is REAL! Mike asks and discusses great question and doesn't give easy answers. Challenging and life-giving. This is my top pick for quality podcasts.
Like medicine for the soul
Mike will challenge you and speaks with authority while simultaneously inviting you to step forward and be a part of God's hope, love and glory. Well done Erre, well done my friend!
Awesome podcast
Every episode is well worth the listen. Thank you, Mike Erre!
Needed dialogue for the church today
Good stuff for Christians and non-Christians alike to engage with.
Don’t miss this one
Mike’s voice has only grown stronger and bolder now that he’s not a staff pastor. Mike does not give us the answers, but instead provokes us to think theologically and wrestle through difficult questions. He aims to give the first word (to get the conversation started) and trust his listeners to take it from there. Provocative and best enjoyed with some friends to keep the conversation moving.
Joyous, thoughtful, quirky and faithful Bible discussion
Just a friendly and excitable guy who loves Jesus teaching the Bible and discussing the modern American Christian life. Not part of some movement, denomination or project, serving a social or political agenda, or trying to innovate theology. For this reason alone, Mike Erre is a rare individual in whatever company he is in, but he is also a unique voice for those who want to examine the Christian faith deeply and sincerely.
Encouraging
A safe place for my friends and I to examine how each of us personally call ourselves Jesus followers
Solid conversation starter
Mike is an engaging and educated teacher. This podcast is an excellent introduction to many who may not be open to talking about faith and sexuality. I'm so thankful that he is willing to look at the Bible and share his perspective with grace and love.
Fan-freakin-tastic
This guy knows how to challenge your thinking while staying consistent with what is true and right.
Understanding the truth of Jesus’s message
In the short time that I have had the pleasure of listening to Mike Erre in his sermons when he was the Pastor at EV free Fullerton, and reading his books like Jesus of Suburbia and his new Podcast Vox, my understanding of Christ and my walk with him has only gotten stronger. Mike does an amazing job conveying the and emphasizing the teachings of Christ with some of the most sound theology I have ever heard. while at the same time dealing with the hypocrisies of the man made doctrines of the American Church.
Honest, Thought-provoking dialog about Jesus
Mike Erre remains a strong voice in the evangelical community with his new podcast VOX! Mike is a sound Bible teacher who uses God's word to challenge our dogmatic "consumeristic" western approach to following Jesus, to one that challenges our beliefs, our prejudices, our social and cultural biases, and (ultimately) our our sin and hypocrisy in the light of the Grace of God's word. Mike uses historical context, sound logic, and and (sometimes?) humor to reveal Holy scripture's message of relevance in any age; and the necessity of considering and deciding upon what one believes about who Jesus really is. I love his teaching. I love his heart. You will too.
